Travel Vaccinations & Ear Syringing Services

Due to a combination of increased patient demand for clinical services and the reduced clinical capacity caused by long-term staff sickness, we are finding that waiting times for booked appointments currently stands at around 5 weeks.

Therefore, in order to prioritise our medical capacity towards maximising the treatment of patients and to reduce the current waiting times, the practice has reluctantly taken the decision to temporarily cease offering travel vaccinations and ear syringing services.

Whilst we fully appreciate that these services are much valued by our patients, these appointments are 20 minutes in length, twice the length of a standard patient appointment.

These decisions have not been taken lightly, but are made in the interests of our entire patient community as a whole.

A further factor in making the decision to cease travel vaccinations has been that for some time we have been unable to order travel vaccines, particularly Typhoid and anti-Rabies shots.

We recognise that patients may need to travel and to address this need, Kingswood Surgery have a list of travel centres who can provide travel vaccinations. A copy of this list is available online here through this link.

We will continue to monitor the general situation and may possibly have to make similar announcements in respect of other services which are deemed to be non-urgent.

Once again, please accept our apologies for the curtailment of these services for now.
