Stop Think Choose
The NHS is very busy at this time of year and it’s important that people use the right service for them.
If anyone’s not sure, they can contact NHS 111 online or by phone.
Urgent treatment centres are open every day and treat minor injuries such as sprains, minor burns and broken bones. No appointment is needed, just walk-in.
Get the right treatment when you need it
There are many different bugs around at this time of year which can cause coughs and colds. In most cases, a cold will clear up in a few days and your child will be safe without the need to see a GP.
Make sure you have a well-stocked medicine cabinet at home with the basic essentials, such as paracetamol, ibuprofen, cold remedies, indigestion treatment and antihistamine.
If you or your children are not well, get advice from your pharmacist at the first sign of feeling ill – don’t wait for it to get more serious.
If you or your child need NHS help during half-term, visit the Stop Think Choose website.
